Jury selection in the a rape case against two former Tennessee football players is expected to wrap up Thursday.

Attorneys have been cross-questioning around 50 potential jurors all week. We’re told attorneys have five jurors left to question. Once that happens they’ll work to narrow down the remaining jurors down to 12 people plus four alternates.

We’re told media exposure generated from the case is creating several challenges when picking a fair and impartial jury. Many saying that in their view, college football players are more likely to commit sexual assault than someone who doesn’t play football.

Once jury selection wraps up, both sides will make opening statements.

Johnson and Williams are accused of raping a female UT athlete at a party at Johnson’s apartment in 2014. They were both charged with two counts of aggravated rape and two counts of aiding and abetting rape.

We’ll stay on top of this and let you know what happens in jury selections as the case moves forward.
