GERMANTOWN, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – Monday, leaders in the Memphis suburb of Germantown agreeed to a land swap that could put a water tower in back of a neighborhood that’s fighting against it.

The deal means Germantown Municipal School District would acquire Houston Levee Park right behind Houston High School to use as space for athletic fields. In turn, the school district would give up the 15 acres of land it owns behind the new Forest Hill Elementary School, which i swhere the new water tower will likely go.

The swap must also be approved by the GMSD Board of Education before it takes effect.
