The cold weather didn’t stop dozens of people from seeing some unique art.
Art In The Loop, a weekend event in Wast Memphis Sunday presented great works of art on display including wood, clay, metal, glass, and fiber.
50 Artist participated, but three artists materials were destroyed in the weather.
After all of the issues that tried to deter the event, the organizer said it was important to have this event.
“It’s really important for Memphis to have events like this because it shows that the city supports the arts, and I like 3-D things. I like fine crafts, things you can use that affect your life on a daily basis and improve your life on a daily basis,” Greg Belz, The Director of Artworks Foundation.
Food trucks and musical performances were also on hand to entertain visitors. The event, formerly called “Art Squared,” moved to East Memphis from Overton Square this year.
