WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. (localmemphis.com) – Monday, May 20th marks a somber day in the Mid-South. Nine years ago, two West Memphis police officers were shot and killed by sovereign citizens.
Fellow officers took to social media remembering the lives of Brandon Paudert and Bill Evans, thanking them for their service.
The officers were killed when a traffic stop went bad on I-40 back in 2010.
Investigators say the two were ambushed by Jerry Kane and his teenage son Joe. The Kanes were killed a short time later in a shoot-out with police at the West Memphis Walmart.
