SOMERVILLE, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – Eleven 18-year-olds are being charged after a disturbanceSunday at the Wilder Youth Development Center in Somerville in Fayette County.
It happened shortly after 5:00 p.m. and order was restoredby 9:00 p.m., according to a spokesperson with the Tennessee Department ofChildren’s Services. She did not say what the disturbance entailed.
We are told all 109 youth at Wilder are accounted for, andnone escaped during the disturbance.
The 11 involved were arrested and taken tothe Fayette County Jail to face charges.
The Fayette County Sheriff’s Department,Tennessee Highway Patrol, and Tennessee Department of Correction assistedduring the disturbance.
The investigation is ongoing.
