Man Shot And Killed Outside Convenience Store in Southeast Memphis

Memphis police are investigating the shooting death of a man on the city’s southeast side Monday afternoon.

According to police, a call came in around 3:15 p.m. on South Mendenhall Road.

One witness described hearing several shots. Another person told Local 24 the victim had been shot in the head multiple times in front of Elvis Mart.

Monday afternoon, police worked the scene along the strip mall by the convenience store, and across the street at Cambridge Station Apartments.

“Three people ran in the complex,” said a man who did not want to be identified.

Police originally said the suspect was a man wearing a blue jacket with fur on the collar, an orange shirt, and khaki pants.

Inside the apartment complex three people were detained, but so far there have been no arrests.

The victim has not yet been identified.
