A Memphis man is charged after police say he beat up the mother of his child when she confronted him about cheating.
Ricardo Gayden is charged with aggravated assault and theft of property $1000-$2500.
According to the police affidavit, the victim called police September 30th, telling them her intimate partner, who is also her child’s father, assaulted her. She told investigators she had searched Gayden’s phone, and found he was being intimate with other women. She said he got mad when she confronted him, and punched her in the face, cutting her lip.
She told police during the tussle, a beer bottle had fallen and smashed on the floor. She said Gayden picked her up and “body slammed” her into the floor on the glass, causing several cuts. She said he then put his hands on her neck, kicked her feet out from under her, and began strangling her.
The victim told police Gayden then went to his bedroom and got a gun, pointing it at her. She said she ran from the home, getting into her SUV, and that Gayden then kicked the doors.
Gayden’s bond was set at $35,000 and he is due in court next week.
