A Memphis woman is behind bars, accused of killing three dogs after puncturing her boyfriend with a knife during a fight.
Jarica Brown is charged with aggravated assault and aggravated cruelty to animals.
According to the police affidavit, Brown and her boyfriend got into an argument Sunday at their home in the 700 block of N. Sixth Street. Police say the fighting turned physical when Brown poked her boyfriend twice in the chest with a knife, leaving two small puncture wounds, and threatened to stab him.
At that point, police say Brown opened the door home, gathered six of the families 10-day-old pit bull puppies, and began throwing them on the ground and kicking them. Three of the puppies died from their injuries, the other three are being treated.
Brown’s bond was set at $15,000.
