Last month we told you Mississippi State Rep Karl Oliver posted on FaceBook, “That Louisiana Legislators should be lynched for removing Confederate Monuments.”
He has since apologized.
Well Monday, lawmakers filed a resolution to permanently expel Oliver.
State Senator Derrick Simmons, D-Greenville, MS, said “The resolution was out of order for asking Representative Karl Oliver to resign from the Mississippi legislature immediately. His recent statements on Facebook were certainly unacceptable. It put national attention on the state of Mississippi attention that you all know that we don’t need.”
Senator Sonya Williams-Barnes, A sponsor of the resolution, says she was threatened and found a torn up copy of the resolution on her desk.
