(ORIGINAL STORY 10/11/2018)

Memphis police are on the hunt for 4 suspects who they say robbed two people in Cooper Young Wednesday night.

It happened about 9:45 p.m. in the 800 block of Cooper Street. One victim told police he and a friend were walking to his girlfriend’s car when 4 male suspects, appearing to be about 14 to 17 years old, approached. He said one of the suspects pointed a gun at him and demanded property from both victims. He said one of the guys told them to lay on the ground, and that one of the suspects punched him twice in the jaw as he was getting down to the ground.

The suspects took the victim’s property, including the keys to one of the victim’s girlfriend’s car, which they took off in. The car is a 2013 Mazda CX-9 with TN license plate S1919D. The victims walked to Celtic Crossing, where they called police.

Officers searched the area and say they could not find surveillance cameras that may have shown the robbery.

Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers at 901-528-CASH.
