You will soon have an even more amazing experience at the movies in the Mid-South. A new IMAX theater is coming to Memphis!
The first commercial IMAX theater in the bluff city will make its home at Malco Paradiso Cinema Grill in east Memphis.
Right now, the only IMAX theater in the Mid-South is the one at the Pink Palace, which is used for educational purposes.
Local 24 was able to get an inside look at the new theater Wednesday. It offers 316 seats, a floor-to-ceiling and wall-to-wall screen, plus a state-of-the-art sound system.
The first movie that will play in IMAX is “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” Thursday night at 7.
The IMAX theater will be open every day. But owners suggest getting your tickets online before you go.
