DESOTO CO., Miss. (localmemphis.com) — An off-duty police officer who was working as a tow truck driver was killed trying to load a car
The deadly crash happened on I-55 just South of Hernando around eleven Tuesday morning. The Panola County Sheriff says Tommy McKee was hit and killed as he was loading a car from a previous accident onto his wrecker.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol charged the driver of the car that hit McKee, Devan Simpson, for not moving over. He could face more charges.
McKee was a police officer in Crenshaw and Pope, Mississippi.
