Have you heard some growling on the highway lately?
Well, that’s because Operation Grizzly Bear is in full force
It’s a new partnership between Tennessee Highway Patrol, the Memphis Police Department, and the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.
It brings in the Tennessee Highway Patrol Troopers to handle traffic incidents , to help reduce traffic fatalities in the city of Memphis, as well as cut crime.
Captain Jimmie Johnson, of the Tennessee Highway Patrol, told Local 24, “It’s going to be increased patrol, more of a zero tolerance of traffic enforcement, hoping to stop and curtail anything that is felony related.”
Law enforcement officials say they hope the partnership will reduce violent crime in the area.
