Memphis Police are investigating three separate shooting incidents that left three people dead and another in critical condition.

Just after 11 p.m. Saturday night in the 2500 block of Dwight, police found a man wounded and lying in the front yard of his home after being shot in the head by armed assailants. Three men forced their way into the victim’s home, stole money, shot the homeowner, and fled in a black Dodge Charger. The victim was taken to Regional One Hospital in critical condition.

Then shortly before 1 a.m., police were called to a shooting in the 3400 block of Benbow. When they entered the location, they found a victim, a 45-year-old man, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to Regional One in critical condition but later died. Police are investigating and do not have anyone in custody.

Police also were called to the 1200 block of Thrushcross Cove at 3:41am to respond to a wounding call. They found 65-year-old Margaret Swearengen dead from multiple gunshot wounds. 57-year-old Thomas Swearengen dead from a single gunshot wound in an apparent murder/suicide.
