Police in Marianna, Arkansas have charged a 20-year-old and a 17-year-old with shooting and killing a man, and trying to make it appear to be a suicide.

Matayo Artist, 20, and the unnamed 17-year-old are charged with capital murder, tampering with physical evidence, and hindering apprehension.

Police say March 31st, they responded to 911 calls about a man shot at an apartment in the 300 block of California St. There, they found Marshal Turner, 23, dead after being shot in the chest.

Police say Artist lives at the apartment, and the 17-year-old was also there at the time of the shooting. Investigators say they were first told Turner shot himself, but during questioning, they say the two suspects turned on each other, claiming each other did the shooting.

Police say the two worked together to remove the gun from the apartment and make up the story.

Bond was denied, and both Artist at the 17-year-old are being held at the Lee County Jail.
