Robbers Of Brink’s Truck, Armored Car And Circle K Indicted

Two men have been indicted on federal charges for allegedly robbing a gas station and a Brink’s armored truck guard at gunpoint.

Two men have been indicted for allegedly robbing a gas station and a Brink’s armored truck guard at gunpoint. Another man who allegedly robbed an armored car guard has been charged in a separate indictment according to the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Tennessee.
 
According to the indictment, 48-year old Cornelius Richmond, and 50-year old Roderick Herron, both of Memphis, robbed a Circle K on N. Germantown Parkway in Cordova on April 26th.  Three days later, on April 29th, Richmond and Herron robbed a Brink’s armored truck guard at gunpoint.  At the time of the robbery, the victim was in the process of loading cash into the ATM machine at a Regions Bank on Austin Peay Highway.
 
Both Richmond and Herron have been charged with two counts of robbery affecting interstate commerce, and one count of brandishing a weapon during a crime of violence. Richmond was also charged with one count of felony possession of a firearm.
 
Additionally, 31-year old James Edward Lacey Jr., of Memphis, has been indicted for his involvement in a separate robbery on August 18th.
 
According to his indictment, Lacey unlawfully possessed a firearm on August 13th.  Five days later, on August 18th, he robbed a Dunbar Armored Service guard at the Memphis, Light, Gas and Water office on Summer.  Lacey has been charged with one count of robbery affecting interstate commerce and one count of felony possession of a firearm.
 
If convicted, all three face up to 20 years in federal prison for robbery.  Richmond and Herron face a mandatory minimum sentence of five years for brandishing a weapon during a crime of violence.  Lacey and Richmond also face up to 10 years for felony firearm possession. All charges carry individual fines of up to $250,000.
