WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. (localmemphis.com) – District leaders are hoping to build the future together for West Memphis students.

School leaders say they received more than $22 million in federal funds to build two new state-of-the-art junior high schools in West Memphis. But now, they must match those funds. That’s why they’re proposing to increase the millage rate.

If approved, officials say someone who owns a $100,000 house would pay about $6 more a month in property taxes.
