MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – They say age is a state of mind, and nowhere in Memphis was that more obvious than at the Delta Fair Wednesday.
Today was Senior American Day at the fair. As many as 4,000 seniors showed for entertainment and to see the crafts and culinary exhibits, not to mention the raw talent of seniors who took part in the talent contest.
Local 24 News anchor Richard Ransom had the honor of being emcee for the event, where two dozen acts performed. There was a harpist, poetry, solo singing, and group singing. Everyone got up and danced with the many line dancing groups who took the stage.
It’s not always easy to get up and perform in front of hundreds of people, but these seniors showed some real courage.
