A Shelby County corrections officer has been relieved of duty due to a controversial Facebook post.
Jail Sgt. Marcus Twilla was relieved of duty with pay pending an investigation.
The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson tells Local 24 over the weekend, Twilla posted a Facebook meme which used the n-word, on a private page for law enforcement officers. The post has since been taken down.
The SCSO says they are looking into whether Twilla violated the department’s social media policy.
