MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – Southern Reigns Center for Equine Therapy cut the ribbon Thursdayon a new learning center and arena at its farm in Collierville.
Southern Reigns provides horse-assisted therapy to people withdisabilities of all types, including physical, cognitive, and emotional.
The new center includes a new classroom with an ADA restroom, aswell as a new outdoor area that can be used to provide hands-on interactionswith up to four horses.
“Our focus is on the ability of every participanthere. Our goal is to teach riding skills. We are trying to improve the qualityof life for people with disabilities,” says Jill Haag, Executive Director of SouthernReigns. “It’s very rewarding to get to do what we do every day, and we get tomeet some very inspirational people.”
Southern Reigns says it helps more than 200 peopleeach year.
