The 14th Annual Opening Day For The Memphis Farmers Market

The beautiful weather and various food options brought hundreds of people out to the opening day of the Memphis Farmers Market on Saturday.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com)- The beautiful weather and various food options brought hundreds of people out to the opening day of the Memphis Farmers Market on Saturday.

Shoppers were getting a multitude of different groceries, including bread, eggs, cheese, meats, and even kombucha and catfish.

The organizer told Local 24 News shoppers can pretty much stock their entire kitchens with the fresh goods being sold at the market in Downtown Memphis.

“You can get most of your week’s shopping done right here,” said the farmers market’s president, Lisa Taylor. “You might have to go out and get a few things, but if you want fresh, good produce, and produce is good for you, that is grown and made by the producers, there’s no place else to go, so it’s wonderful.”

This is the 14th year of the farmers market, which will be open every Saturday from 8am til 1pm through October.
