Students at Brighton Middle School in Tipton County paired up with Make-A-Wish to make a Mid-South family’s dream vacation a reality.
Miles McCollum and his family were surprised Friday with a trip to Disney World.
Miles is 3-years-old and a huge Disney fan. During the Make-A-Wish event, he got the chance to meet students dressed up as his favorite Disney characters before the big announcement.
This wish is extra special for Miles’ family because a trip to Disney wasn’t always a possibility.
“He was born with Down syndrome, but he was born with a heart defect and a lung condition that we weren’t expecting,” says Miles’ mother, Amanda McCollum. “We never knew if he’d be healthy enough, but he’s doing well today and we’re just really excited to celebrate him.”
This is the seventh wish students at Brighton Middle School have granted for Make-A-Wish children in the Mid-South.
