Neighbors and neighborhood leaders in the Cooper-Young neighborhood are outraged, after two people are robbed at the same intersection within minutes of each other. This comes after two other robberies this week in the neighborhood.
The latest two happened around 12:40 a.m. and 1:20 a.m. Thursday morning at Oliver and Tanglewood, and police believe these two are connected.
According to reports, an armed robber approached the first victim with a gun, and took a cell phone and wallet. The crook then drove off in a sedan with another man.
The second victim reported a similar suspect description, and police believe the getaway vehicle, a 2001 Dodge Neon, was also used in the first robbery.
The police report said that car was stolen in an armed robbery late Wednesday night and later dumped.
No one has been arrested.
With these two overnight robberies, that makes five reported robberies in Cooper-Young in the last month.
A neighborhood watch leader said a private security camera at Oliver and Tanglewood is being repaired and wasn’t rolling Thursday morning during the two crimes.
