MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – Friends and family gathered in downtown Memphis Tuesday to celebrate and remember Memphis musician Omar Higgins.
Higgins, only 37 years old, suffered a stroke and staph infection earlier this month and was admitted to the ICU at Methodist Hospital downtown where he passed on April 18th.
Tuesday morning, friends and family made a Second Line procession from Beale Street to Clayborn Temple where hundreds were on hand to pay their respects.
Higgins was the front man and bass player for reggae band Chinese Connection Dub Embassy and hardcore punk band Negro Terror.
