Memphis Police say a boy is in critical condition after being hit by a car Tuesday morning in Whitehaven. A woman has been charged in the crash.
It happened just before 7:00 a.m. at the intersection of Millbranch and Raines. Police say he was hit as he was walking to school at A. Maceo Walker. According to police, the boy crossed in front of Saundra McBride’s car as she was going through a green light on Millbranch. The boy was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Police say McBride stayed on the scene. She was arrested and charged with driving while license is suspended/revoked, and violation of the Ricky Otts law, which requires officers to arrest drivers involved in serious accidents who don’t have a valid license.
