Man accused of robbing another man who tried to buy car through Facebook

Memphis Police say a man is behind bars, accused of robbing a man who was trying to buy a car through Facebook.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – Memphis Police say a man is behind bars, accused of robbing a manwho was trying to buy a car through Facebook.

Cameron Dillard is charged with especially aggravated robbery.

It happened about 5:30 p.m. July 24th in the 5600 blockof Maple Tree Road. The victim told police he agreed to meet Dillard about agold Mercury Grand Marquis for sale in the Facebook Marketplace. The victimtold police Dillard drove him to Maple Tree Road, then pointed a gun at him anddemanded money.

The victim told police he tried to fight back when Dillard shothim in the leg and hit him several times in the head with the gun. He toldpolice he was able to get out of the car as Dillard drove off. Police say therewas video near the scene of the car driving off.

July 26th, officers spotted the car at a liquor storeat Kirby Parkway and Knight Arnold. Dillard was taken into custody, and police sayhe admitted to the robbery.

Dillard is in jail on $155,000 bond. He is due in court Monday.
