UPDATE: 9:08 p.m. – Police have charged Dishmon with attempted murder, aggravated assault, and evading arrest.

UPDATE 12:30 p.m. – Memphis Police have identified the suspect as 37-year-old Marcaidus Dishmon.

UPDATE 10:15 a.m. – Memphis Police say the suspect and the vehicle have been located in the 4000 block of Navajo. The suspect is in custody.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – A man is on the run after dragging a Memphis Police Officer early Tuesday morning.

According to MPD, officers responded to a suspicious person call around 4:30 a.m. at the Exxon gas station at 2675 Getwell, near American Way.

When officers arrived, they approached a man who was sitting in a car in the parking lot. As they tried to get the man out of the car, he drove off, dragging one of the officers.

The injured officer fired a shot at the suspect, but, MPD doesn’t believe the he was hit by gunfire.

The officer was treated on scene for his injuries.

This is an ongoing investigation.
