GERMANTOWN, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – Germantown is about to get its first new school since separating from Shelby County Schools in 2014.
Forest Hill Elementary School will be ready to go by the first day of class Monday. The 27-million-dollar building can accommodate more than 800 students and will help relieve overcrowding.
Teachers were setting up their classrooms Thursday as crews made some finishing touches.
While the school will be ready for the first day of class August 12, final landscaping and other work outside the building is a work in progress.
Germantown Municipal School District’s new administration offices will also be on the site.
