Sherra Wright transferred to custody of Tennessee Department of Correction

Sherra wright has now been transferred to the custody of the Tennessee Department of Corrections.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – Sherra Wright has now been transferred to the custody of the Tennessee Department of Correction.

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office says Wright was transferredfrom Shelby County Jail East Friday, following her plea deal Thursday in themurder of her ex-husband Lorenzen Wright.

Wright was murdered in 2010, and theguilty plea came almost 9 years to the day after Wright’s body was found onJuly 28th, 2010. Ex-wife Sherra Wright and Billy Turner were charged with thecrime in 2017.

SherraWright pleaded guilty to facilitation to commit first-degree murder in Wright’sdeath. That carries a 30-year sentence. She also pleaded guilty to facilitationto commit attempted first-degree murder, with an 8-year sentence. The sentencesrun concurrently. Sherra Wright would be eligible for parole after 30% of thesentence is served, after 9 years. She will get credit for time served (nearlytwo years).

Prosecutors say Billy Turner alsostill faces charges in Lorenzen Wright’s death and that trial remains set forSeptember.
