Toshiba creating 40 jobs in Horn Lake with distribution center opening

HORN LAKE, Miss. (Mississippi Development Authority Release) – Toshiba America Business Solutions is opening distribution operations in Horn Lake. The $14 million project will create 40 jobs.

“The tremendous success DeSotoCounty’s distribution industry has experienced in 2019 alone is unparalleled,as companies, including Toshiba, have generated nearly 2,000 jobs for thearea’s workforce,” Gov. Phil Bryant said. “There is no doubt thatstrong momentum will continue in 2020. The region’s outstanding transportationnetwork allows industry leaders ease-of-access to their customers, and more andmore companies continue to discover the many benefits of a North Mississippilocation.”

TABS is a subsidiary of technologysolutions company Toshiba Tec Corporation. The company provides multifunctionprinters, including its award-winning e-STUDIO™ multifunction printer, manageddocument services and digital signage for businesses of all sizes throughoutthe United States, Mexico and Central and South America. 

Toshiba is locating distributionoperations in a 328,355-square-foot facility in the Core 5 DeSoto 55 LogisticsCenter. The new location will allow the company to expand its distributioncapabilities to meet increasing client demand.

Steven Tungate, Toshiba America BusinessSolutions vice president and general manager, Service, Supply Chain Managementand Innovation.  “Our new facility allows us to expand our distributionfootprint to better serve our clientele.”     

The Mississippi Development Authority isassisting with equipment relocation. The city of Horn Lake and DeSoto Countyare providing property tax exemptions in support of the project.

Toshiba plans to recruit 40 new employeesin conjunction with the distribution center opening in August 2020.
