MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com)- Volunteers gathered Saturday for a second time to clean up the Mid-South Coliseum.

Non-profit leaders joined city officials to continue getting the building ready for the Roundhouse Revival 4, which is happening next month.

For the first year, the Roudhouse Revival will be hosted inside the coliseum.

Over the past four years, large crowds showed up for the event for the music, wrestling, and basketball.

The public library is also collecting memorabilia for an online digital collection and for display on the coliseum’s pre-revitalizing period.

“So now our city has made clear that its open to a good idea coming forward for the coliseum, and the coliseum is the emotional heart of the fairgrounds, and the fairgrounds are smack dab in the middle of our city,” said Marvin Stockwell, the co-founder of the Coliseum Coalition. “I think its clear that a lot has changed in the past four years, and now Memphis has made clear that the coliseum has a future.”

The Coliseum Coalition’s building assessment in 2016 found the building was still in excellent shape for continued use.
