MEMPHIS, Tennessee —
In Friday's Ransom Note: the politics of the pandemic.
From the beginning, masks became political even though every scientist with any credibility says that wearing them is what we need to be doing.
Now we learned the White House kept from the American public documents that labeled 18 states --including the three in this region-- as ‘red zones,’ documents recommending that we needed to go back to stringent control measures.
The leading infectious disease specialist in the country, Dr. Anthony Fauci has gone from daily briefings on national TV to being criticized in op-ed pieces by the Trump administration. Now we learn the same administration is forbidding anyone from the CDC to speak before congress about reopening our schools.
Obviously I believe strongly in the public's right to know, to put the information out there and let you decide.
In a public health crisis, citizens don't need politics. They need the truth, now more than ever.
