Arkansas continues practice with McClure intercepting pass, kickers both successful

Arkansas continues practicing for the season opener. On Tuesday, the first 20 minutes of practice produced an interception and two short field goals.

Arkansas was back on the practice field on Tuesday as they continue to prepare for the Sept. 1 season opener against Eastern Illinois.

The first 20 minutes was once again open to the media. Sophomore Cole Kelley took the first snaps at quarterback, but was picked off by nickel back D’Vone McClure on his first passing attempt. Ty Storey was the quarterback for the second unit. Storey had several completed passes while taking his unit down the field.

Both Connor Limpert and Preston Stafford converted 25-yard field goals. Limpert and Stafford each only had the one attempt during the 20 minutes open to the media.

Former defensive end Brandon Lewis was at Arkansas’ practice watching for the first time this fall. Lewis lettered at Arkansas from 2013-16.  

Two offensive linemen, Dylan Hays and Ryan Winkel, had green jerseys on. Chad Morris will be made available to the media following today’s practice at approximately 6:45.
