One injured after MSCS school bus crash in South Memphis

According to the Memphis Fire Department, one person was injured in the accident, and the victim was transported to Regional One Hospital in non-critical condition.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Traffic at the intersection of Southern Avenue and Rozelle Street was blocked Wednesday morning after an accident involving a car and a Memphis-Shelby County Schools bus left one person injured.

Memphis Police said the accident happened at 8:13 a.m. 

All four lanes on Southern Avenue are blocked.

According to Memphis Fire Department, one person was injured in the accident, and was transported to Regional One Hospital in non-critical condition. We are told there were students onboard at the time.

Memphis-Shelby County Schools said the bus was headed to Hamilton K-8 School. Parents were notified and students were taken to school on another bus.

The cause of the accident is unknown at this time.
