Southwest Airlines to launch nonstop Memphis-Phoenix service in December

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Southwest Airlines will launch new nonstop service between Memphis International Airport (MEM) and Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) on Thursday, December 17. The flight will operate once a day, seven days a week.

Tickets are on sale through Southwest's website.   

The airline began operations at MEM in November 2013 and most recently launched Memphis-Atlanta service in March 2020. 

“This is very positive news in the midst of what’s been a very difficult year for aviation,” said Pace Cooper, Chairman of the Board of Commissioners for the Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority. “As passengers become more comfortable with air travel, we’re excited that Southwest is providing more destinations!”

 

The schedule is as follows:

 

Memphis to Phoenix

  • Departs: 1:10 pm (CST)
  • Arrives: 3:45 pm (MST)

Phoenix to Memphis 

  • Departs: 3:05 pm (MST) 
  • Arrives: 7:05 pm (CST)
