Warm and breezy Wednesday, storms late Thursday

The best chance for thunderstorms comes Thursday afternoon to evening. It cools down for Friday and Saturday.

NEW ORLEANS — RELATED: Track Rain on Southeast Louisiana Radar

After a sunny and beautiful start to the week, we've transitioned on Wednesday to a warmer and cloudier setup. We'll have a southeast breeze and a few spotty showers around. Tonight won't be very cold as temperatures bottom out near 60 degrees. A few showers and some patchy fog are possible overnight, although a continued southeast breeze should limit the fog potential.

Thursday is the active day this week. Expect a breezy and mostly cloudy day before showers and thunderstorms arrive in the afternoon and evening. A few storms could be strong to severe particularly north of the lake and into Mississippi. Rain totals looks like an inch or so. Rain ends Thursday night as colder air returns.

Clouds linger on Friday, but it looks dry and chilly for evening parades. Saturday looks dry, cool and partly cloudy. We warm up a bit into the 60s on Sunday.

We warm up early next week with a return of rain Monday and Tuesday.
