There are reports of damage from the storm, including large trees down and roof damage in the community of Gadsden. The National Weather Service says this was a result of straight-line winds.

Videos taken from near Bells appear to show a low-hanging funnel cloud moving toward the city along Highway 79.

The National Weather Service office in Memphis says a tornado did in fact touch down in northern Haywood County, causing minor damage.

No injuries have been reported.
