Bond set for Memphis firefighter charged with shooting uncle

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – A $125,000 bond was set Friday for Memphis firefighter Kelvin Steward, charged with shooting his uncle.

Investigators say 35-year-old Steward shot his uncle after a fight Wednesday on Kennings Drive in southeast Memphis.

The police report says both uncle and nephew pulled out guns and opened fire. Witnesses told police Steward fired into the air, but a bullet ricocheted.

He’s charged with aggravated assault.

The uncle is expected to be okay.
