Man charged with operating a chop shop in southwest Memphis

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – A Mid-South man is facing charges after authorities say they found a chop shop in southwest Memphis.

Police say they received a tip Wednesday about an illegal chop shop on Eastman Road near 3rd Street.

While executing a search warrant, officers found hundreds of vehicle parts across the property and several vehicles being taken apart. They say some of the cars had been stolen.

Police say Terrell Jefferson is the lease-holder of the property. He’s charged with theft and knowingly operating a chop shop.
