NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Police in Nashville are searching for a man who they say robbed a theater there, after robbing a Memphis theater the week before.
Nashville Metro Police say the man, identified as 57-year-old Lloyd Eugene Rhodes, paid for a movie ticket and spent the night inside an AMC theater, waiting to rob the business once it opened.
Investigators think Rhodes bought a movie ticket Wednesday night and hid inside the theater during closing. When a 23-year-old employee opened up Thursday morning, police say Rhodes pointed a gun at her and demanded cash. He’s also accused of stealing the employee’s cell phone and car.
Memphis police issued a warrant for aggravated robbery in the Memphis case. Police say around 11:15 a.m. Friday, Oct. 25, Rhodes entered the Studio on the Square during a matinee waving a gun at the employees. Investigators say he took a deposit bag holding an unknown amount of cash and took off.
Police say Rhodes drove to a nearby home and parked in the driveway, then walked away. A homeowner caught Rhodes leaving the car on his Ring doorbell camera.
Anyone with information on Rhodes whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 901-528-CASH.
