Riverdale Elementary Hosts Reading Day With Local 24 News’ Richard Ransom

At a time when kids spend a lot of time in front of screens of all kinds, it’s good to remind them there’s this thing made out of paper. It has pages that you turn, and they tell a story.

Riverdale Elementary in Germantown promoting good old-fashioned reading Friday.

Dr. Seuss was a big favorite, and many of the kids dressed in a character of their choice as they greeted Local 24 anchor Richard Ransom. Then it was on to Mrs. Callaway’s fourth grade English class where Richard read his favorite Dr. Seuss book.

The kids also asked lots of good questions, like what was Richard doing for spring break and did he report fake news?

Richard assured them we don’t do that at Local 24 News. He also wants to thank the kids for being so polite!
