MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – A grand opening was held Friday for a center supporting the Latino community.
This is also a community resource that allows anyone who speaks Spanish to finish their schooling.
“For those parents that speak Spanish and did not finish their either elementary, middle, or high school, we do offer those courses online where they will have access here. And they can finish their schooling, and it is certified by the Mexican government as a valid finish diploma,” said Elvia Vieyra, Bilingual Mentor with Shelby County Schools.
The classes are free, and visitors only have to pay for the books they have to use for their courses. Classes are available during the day when the school is open.
