Gestalt Community Schools holds ribbon-cutting ceremony for new facilities

News

Gestalt Community Schools held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Monday for its new Power Center Academy Elementary School and 9th Grade Academy.

They are now housed at what used to be the Mendenhall Square Shopping Center at Winchester and South Mendenhall.

The schools are part of a three-year revitalization project for the Hickory Hill community.

“They teach our students how to become entrepreneurs, how to manage a business, how to manage finances. And that’s extremely important, especially in a community like Hickory Hill where injection of entrepreneurship could turn it around,” Tennessee State Sen. Katrina Robinson.

Gestalt also plans to work with community partners to establish a grocery store, restaurants, a preschool, and enhanced community green space at the property.
