Le Bonheur is going GREEN to help patients & families escape the emotional challenges of hospitalization

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – A new interactive outdoor space for children and families will soon come to life at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital.

Hospital officials broke ground Friday on the new Le Bonheur Green, which will include a prayer labyrinth, as well as a walking path in the shape of a heart.

There will also be a front porch gathering space and an open green for children to run and play.

The idea for the outdoor area came from the Krull family, whose daughter Lucy was being treated for a form of brain and spinal cancer

“We recognized after some time that we spent at another hospital, that there was a need for a place of respite, a place for quiet,” says Kate Krull.

The Le Bonheur Green is expected to be complete this Spring.
