MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – A grand opening was held Thursday for Amazon‘s Memphis delivery station.
This was the first time Local 24 News has been inside the facility which helps sort packages for delivery.
The facility on Person Road employs 240 full-time and part-time employees. It also partners with contractors who have built businesses delivering for Amazon.
“What I do is, I am the face of Amazon to you and your house. They depart this facility, delivering the package to you,” said Kyle McElhaney, with Mid-South Area Carriers.
During Thursday’s grand opening, Amazon donated $10,000 in school supplies to Shelby County Schools.
