Local activist files lawsuit seeking injunction against October 3rd Memphis Mayoral election

Local Elections

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – Local Black Lives Matter activist Pamela Moses has now filed a lawsuit against the Shelby County Election Commission and State of Tennessee, seeking an injunction to force her name be added to the October 3rd ballot for the Memphis mayor’s race, or to postpone the election.

This comes after Moses appealed a judge’s ruling last month that she is still on probation, and therefore does not qualify to run for office. Moses said she believes she has completed her sentence. And until it’s complete, she can’t get her citizen rights restored, which would allow her to run for mayor.
