MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – Are you ready for a “New Memphis?” Then there is one place you’ll want to be next month. Local 24 News Weeknight Anchor Katina Rankin has this local good news.
It’s time for a little “exposure” for Memphis.
Seriously, want to know any and everything about the Bluff City?
“We are going to celebrate all things Memphis, and it’s going to be an amazing opportunity, whether you’re a newcomer or you’re a local to the city. You can experience everything this city has to offer,” said Director of Marketing and Partnership Anna Wohrman.
Local non-profit New Memphis is aiming to help you stay connected to the city with tons of entertainment for the family.
“We will have dodge ball. We will have some relay games, and we’ll do a lip sync battle that is sure to bring some fun,” said New Memphis Event Specialist Nora Bisaccio.
And new this year, a new location – FedexForum – where you can expect several Olympic style games.
“We’ll have opening ceremonies which will be led by Mayor Strickland. We’ll also do free giveaways from Mempops and other local places,” said Bisaccio.
“You’re going to be able to experience everything this city has to offer. You’re going to be able to see how you can volunteer. You’re going to be able to see the great attractions Memphis has: everything from Graceland to Levitt Shell to everything there is. So, this really is a way to get plugged in and excited about the city,” said Wohrman. “It’s really taking your love of Memphis and activating it.”
