MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – Memphis city leaders shined a spotlight on local heroes Tuesday. Top honors were presented to first responders who go above and beyond the call of duty.
For the first time, the Exchange Club of Greater Memphis awarded a firefighter and police officer of the year.
Memphis’ top cop and fire department leaders chose the employees who best fit that description.
Raymond Martin was named officer of the year and Lieutenant Randall Humphrey was named firefighter of the year.
Aside from the award, a $250 donation was made in honor of each recipient to the charity of their choice.
