MEMPHIS, TENN. (localmemphis.com) — BraveDogs and Magicians are teaming up to bring a unique project to the Soulsville Area. That project is expected to generate 15 million dollars in economic growth to South Memphis. It’s local good news.
The BraveDog Innovation Center, or BDIC, and LeMoyne-Owen College’s community development corporation have teamed up to create an innovation center. The center will feature a premium video game lounge, state-of-the-art e-sports arena and academy, merchandise retail store, student video game development training facility, and a financial literacy center.
“The heart of the community here is important to us,” said Chief Executive Officer of BraveDog Games Dustin Mack.
Organizers say youth are looking for opportunities to excel in life other than being a professional athlete, and they say this project will give them that opportunity.
“We want to ensure that under-represented communities are represented in the industry in which we support,” said Mack.
