MILLINGTON, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – Some local good news to brighten your day. A young woman in Millington has a new bike, thanks to Millington Police Chief Mark Dunbar!

Millington Police posted the story and picture to Facebook.

Here’s what the post says:

When Chief Mark Dunbar has been noticing for a week or so this girl on a skateboard daily up and down Navy Rd wearing a Burger King uniform, so he decided to stop her this morning and talk with her! Talking with her he found out that she lives somewhere out on the other side of the base and the only way to her job was by skateboard, no other means of transportation. Chief Dunbar asked if he got her a bike would it help, she was so excited that he even stopped to talk to her much less offer her help! Now she has a new bike and an easier method of getting to work. Congratulations Chief Dunbar on a job well done.
